Hospitality Team Profile

A RECIPE FOR SUCCESS
Feb 2011

The new hospitality team at Workforce Development is gearing up to inspire the next generation of Simon Gaults and Gordon Ramsays.

Chef tutor, Phil Eldon, and Front of House tutors, Rebecca Simpson and Geoff Wilson, each bring passion, professionalism and commitment; key ingredients that have enabled them to be successful in their respective fields.

“Travel was the main reason why I became a chef”, says Phil. “As a result, I have worked all over Europe and Australasia, enabling me to experience many of the world’s finest restaurants.”

“Giving people a great experience” is the prime motivation for Rebecca, who has worked throughout New Zealand as a chef, in restaurant and catering management, and now runs her own coffee business.

“A passion for wine” inspired Geoff to give up a London based corporate career to establish his own wine business in Hawke’s Bay.

Each agree that a career in hospitality can establish a pathway to a rewarding lifestyle, working in bars, restaurants, wineries and cruise ships, around the world.

For those who have a genuine desire to achieve in an exciting environment, with a great team of people, Phil, Rebecca and Geoff may well be your recipe for success.
